Delve into the depths of racism in Canada and its traumatic impact on BIPOC communities. What you’ll learn: - Understand the multi-layered aspects of racism in Canada today - Explore the historical roots of colonialism and its ongoing impact on Canadian institutions - Identify the traumatic experiences of racism faced by BIPOC individuals - Develop a trauma-infused perspective as a pathway to allyship - Bridge anti-racism methodologies with a trauma-informed lens This series is for anyone that is interested in taking more advanced steps in their reconciliation journey. The course introduces participants to concepts related to trauma and anti-racism and mixes in activities and discussion to encourage deeper understandings. The facilitators provide an environment of openness and trust which helps to facilitate honest conversations about the multi-layered aspects of racism. Its great for everyone, from those working on the front line to those in leadership and decision-making roles. Plan to attend all 3 dates. There will be a lunch hour break each day.
